We have always had a data led approach to our understanding of Roblox UGC and our place in the market. Our tool, that allows for fast and low-cost production of Roblox UGC by anyone, means that we have always had to be on top of the numbers.
The upload calculator is exactly what it says on the tin. It provides the ability to understand the outlay across every single item type and across the three UGC types of Free Limited, Paid Unlimited, and Paid Limited.
You can input the amount of SKU’s for each item type (Hat, Back attachment, etc), the number of units you are creating (if the item is a free limited or paid limited) and the calculator will provide you with the outlay both in RBX and the USD cost (other currencies are available, reach out if you are interested in a different currency). At the bottom of the sheet you will also see the total amount of SKU’s, the total RBX outlay, and the total USD outlay. One can quickly run scenarios for a campaign and project the cost to meet budget requirements. It is a great visual tool!
This sheet focuses solely on Unlimited Paid UGC sold through the Marketplace, this means it calculates at 30% revenue from each sale.
Two specific columns for you to amend are the sale price on Roblox in RBX, and the cost (if any) of the production of an item of UGC in USD. By changing the cost on Roblox in RBX you are able to see how that effects the amount of sales needed to a) Recoup the cost of upload (750 RBX), b) Recoup the publishing advance (variable depending on the item type).
As well as this, the other column that you can amend is the cost of creating that UGC in the first place. Here you can put in your creator cost in USD and this in turn will calculate the break even in sales of that UGC based on the cost of creating it. This calculation includes the cost of upload so gives you an overall figure including the 750 RBX of upload.
This sheet focuses solely on Limited Paid UGC sold through the Marketplace which again means the 30% revenue from each sale.

The nice thing about this calculator is that because you have to assign a number to your Limited Paid UGC, you can see what number of units will provide you with break even and therefore build a Paid Limited UGC campaign based on your costs for the three elements of upload, publishing advance, and production.
